WNGS...

Well they have finally taken off...
The wings mini books we have designed hit the Papercraft show last week to rave reviews. These little 5x5 mini scrapbooks have a secret reveal under the wings. so many people were interested in them that I have had to spend time setting up a gallery on our shop site at www.scrapdragon.co.uk. we have even been approached to sell them on QVC!

I am now at a quandry.... do I concentrate and develop these books further and go on QVC or Create and Craft TV... or do I sell to other retailers so they can fulfill the customer demands for the Wings books

Can we have a vote - I would appreciate your guidence on what to do.

  1. Hi Kim.
You know I'm a non-scrapper (though I may yet be converted!). I thought that the wings book was Fab, Brilliant and very very clever! However, I think it would be a shame if you lost control of your design, and think that you should further develop it yourself - as I know you can! I'd love to see you on TV though!
But, I have known you long enough to know that no matter what the general concensus is, you will follow what your heart tells you, otherwise you won't be able to live with the decision if you don't! (Neither will Allan).

  2. Oooo how very exciting! I was gonna come and say do what you feel best, but I think you have to carefully consider the pro's and con's of each avenue. Tv will get you out there quickly, I think you could be in for a chance of having a lot of buyers, can you supply that sort oif demand? And if you sold on tv can you still sell in shops??? They sound very intriguing, cant wait to here more

  3. I have not seen the book yet but will pop over to your shop to have a look.

IMHO I would say that having QVC behind you would be fabulous and may lead on to greater things with both them and other avenues, it adds to your credibility as a designer etc. Getting someone to "take a chance" on you can be the hardest part and QVC approached you ! WOW !

Whatever you choose GOOD LUCK :)

It was a shock to they system to go back to work after two weeks in the sun. Especially when I haven't even finished wading through the mountain of laundry. As a distraction to avoid looking at the laundry, I have been reviewing the photos which I took in Egypt while I was playing with my new Canon 450D camera and the 50mm lens which Allan bought me for Christmas. These very clever carvings were on display in the hotel restaurant. They had lovely displays of fruit and vegetables everyday. I just had to capture the colourful display. I set off tonight for my Tuesday weight watchers class in anticipation of the two weeks all inclusive menu of the Hauza Beach Resort in Sharm would have increased my weight dramatically. I was overjoyed to find I had stayed the same as before my holiday and not managed to put on an ounce! I don't believe it, we must have drank at least a bottle of red wine each day. I will have to be really ggood for this week otherwise it will show on m...

Playing in the sugar Bowl

This Card was created for the Sugar Bowl Challenge no 30 where the challenge was to create a card based on a sketch and make it shabby chic. I used an Easel card style as I love these at the moment!. I altered my GorJuss girl stamp and added Wings and another butterfly which was lifted off 3D with silicone glue. The background papers were from Basic Grey and Crafty Individuals. The background circle was embossed with the damask Cuttlebug folder and all were distressed with Ranger inks. The Angel words stamp is an old one from Debbie Moore designs. a couple of prima flowers, brads and stickles finish off the design.

Still Waiting.....

We are still waiting for our grandchild to be born. Our daughter is now 10 days over her due date and getting bigger and bigger. We hope that everything is well and baby is born with some intervention early next week. I hope this lazy baby will stay happy and contented when it emerges into the world. There is a large family waiting to meet him or her! As I am waiting, I used the Waiting to Happen kit from MGLscraps. This kit is so versatile and perfect for scrapping our waiting game. The layout is of my daughter Michelle when she showed teenage attitude.
