Spring-a-ding-ding

I have just got this lovely kit from Silly Beans Scraps ( www.getdigiwithit.com ) and just how versatile is this little kit! I loved the retro feel which was suitable for the old photo of my two nieces, Julie and Donna when they were children in the 70's and still look good for a modern photo of my tow cats cuddling up. I just adore the glitter papers in here!

I love Templates!

How easy is it to scrapbook with templates? I downloaded these templates from forums as a challenge. The first one og the cat Tabitha used the template from K-Joi studios and the one with my daughter Michelle used the template from the pickleberrypop forum. I used the Live Love Laugh kit from designs by Angel for both of these, two very diffrent looks from one kit

The first layout is of my eldest granddaughter Amyleigh who now wants to be know as just Amy. The second brag book page is of a friend Nic on our night out to a casino. Two very different looks from one kit. You can get the kit on special HERE at www.Prettyscrappy.com

Painting with Light

I have been taking the Painting with Light photography course with Cheryl Johnson. This is the second course I taken with CJ and i am looking forward to the weekend photography bootcamp in May. I am really enjoying the course althouh I must admit that the weekly assignment deadlines are a little too tight for me to achieve with my work and design team commitments. Here are a few photos I have taken this week with my assignments in mind. They include the iconic Transporter Bridge, one of the two remaining in the world and a local visit ot a graveyard at sunset. Watch out this week for news of a brand new bright and cheery kit from DESIGNS BY ANGEL.

Thank You to everyone

There has been a lot going on this week since we got back from wedding dress shopping in Burton. Friends and family have all been buying little gifts for our granddaughter Daisy. We have a load to take down to Lyndsdey and Gary when we visit Manchester on Saturday. I made some little Thank You cards with Daisy's photo on as a digital page using the NewLife Dreams Oh Baby kit (its georgeous; I love the little feathers and sparkles! ) After printing the layout, I have made lots of hybrid cards with paper and ribbons so that Lyndsey and Gary can write out the cards and post them out to all who have bought for Daisy. I also decided to sign up for the Race for Life. There are a few people at work doing it and I have never attempted it before. But as my mum is currently undergoing treatment for Breast cancer, the least I can do is try and run a bit and raise some money to support the Cancer Research. I am overjoyed at the reponse to sponsor me so far as I only set it up on 9th M...

Wedding dress shopping

This weekend has been great fun. My daughter Michelle is getting married on 10 October this year and we went going wedding dress shopping on Saturday. On Friday night we left work and drove down to Burton on Trent where Michelle and Ben bought a house. On Saturday we walked into Burton Town to Moss Bros and looked at the men's outfits and made some decisions about those. We had an appointment at the little wedding dress shop at 2.00pm on the afternoon and Ben's mum came along to join in the fun as well. Michelle tried on about eight or nine different styles, some where very Victorian and full of flounces, others were more fitted. She even managed to try a large full net meringue style dress on. Although it was quite difficult to sort out the manoeuvring into them. After a while Michelle narrowed it down to two dresses. Then the difficulty was to make a decision, but she finally chose one and a matching headdress for the event. On the evening we were booked into...
It was a shock to they system to go back to work after two weeks in the sun. Especially when I haven't even finished wading through the mountain of laundry. As a distraction to avoid looking at the laundry, I have been reviewing the photos which I took in Egypt while I was playing with my new Canon 450D camera and the 50mm lens which Allan bought me for Christmas. These very clever carvings were on display in the hotel restaurant. They had lovely displays of fruit and vegetables everyday. I just had to capture the colourful display. I set off tonight for my Tuesday weight watchers class in anticipation of the two weeks all inclusive menu of the Hauza Beach Resort in Sharm would have increased my weight dramatically. I was overjoyed to find I had stayed the same as before my holiday and not managed to put on an ounce! I don't believe it, we must have drank at least a bottle of red wine each day. I will have to be really ggood for this week otherwise it will show on m...

Sunday

Sunday was a day of rest, we strolled along a beach and ate a leisurely breakfast. We were booked in for a luxurious Egyptian aromatherapy massage and had an hour of being pampered to relax us on our holiday. We met some lovely people last night, Lisa and her mum Margaret from North Sheilds. There are also a few boys here up for a laugh and Steve kept us entertained all night. We must have been having fun as we didn't go to bed until 2am and this time it was Allan a little worse for the red wine! Its quite strange blogging via phone as I can't see if it goes up alright! I have just had an error message so apologies if this has sent twice to the blog ------------------

A change ps scenery

It was lovely to leave the cold ad snow in Teesside on Thursday and ecgange it for the warmth and sun of Egypt. We have come to the Hauza Beach hotel in Sharm to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary. So those who have logged of for scrapbook insoutstion will just have to make do with my ramblings and photos from my blackberry! I will try and remembe to have fun whilst recording our adventure. I managed to do my usual when we first come away on an all inclusive break, sample the strength of the local brew. I got so drunk on the first night I was ill and didn't get up until 11am the following day. Even then I needed painkillers to get rid of the hangover before I could face food. Well now I know how strong it is and in future will moderate my drinking For today anyway... ------------------
