Sugar Bowl Challenge 36

Playing in the Sugar Bowl again.  This week's challenge  is Lilians sketch with the theme of pink, black and white.   I used magenta holographic card for the pink with one of the older original Sugar Nellie stamps,  Maggie with stick. The stamped image was coloured with promarkers.  The strips were embossed with words and edges inked before layering up with flowers.  A few gemstones to finish.

A spoonfull of Sugar Nellies

I was delighted to see my blog chosen on the Banner promotion  of the Sugar Nellies. Karen has worked hard for years to build up the business and her success is down to hard work and determination.  Well done.  As more fantastic illustrators move into the house of Nellie things are only going to get better!. My sugar treat was the lovely new stamp Sporty one of the manga range. you can find him here I couldn't wait to use him and coloured him in with pro-markers and used Crate Papers in the background.  This card is going for my brother in law. Recently the Little Cotton Rabbits featured on the Sugar Nellie blog here   I had just finished making this card for a colleagues new baby boy and thought you might like to see it.

Birthday Celebration Age Cards

There are times when I need to make a slightly special card. I was about to start in my craft room to make an 80th birthday card for my mother in law when himself pipped up@will you make one for Claire?' So I rummaged for my Sugar Nellie Stamps and found matching papers and realised it was actually easier to make two similar cards than two different ones. The colorway is the same as the papers were mixed and matched to suit, Both have the age in large numbers and both have a Sugar Nellie, but they are very different!

Still under the weather

The antibiotics seem to be having a mildly positive effect on my chest but a severe negative effect on my digestion! Oh well I must get better soon. As I have been snuggled and wrapped up ward, I have been playing with my Sugar Nellie stamps and made up a couple of mothers day cards. I tried to make the easel style cards, where they stand up with a bit on the front. This one was based on the Sugar Bowl Challenge based on the sketch. Although I did turn round the sketch and based it on am easel card instead. I enjoyed playing with the newly bought Gorjuss stamps but my old favourite Maggie Dressing Up is a must for mothers day cards!

May Weekend

You would think that in National Scrapbooking day I would use the excuse to create new scrapbook layouts. But as every in my own contrary fashion. I went back to card making! I have as few to make one for a wedding and a couple of Birthday cards. I was just trying to get back in to the hang of them as I knew I had a pile of wedding invitations to complete. I love this little dressed up Sugar Nellie stamp, which was painted with mica paints and then added a handbag brad and stickles. The background is Making memories paper. I might have to play with my Sugar Nellies again, I have a few more birthdays on the horizon and need to practice my advanced colouring in :) The other card is a wedding card which I like clean simple lines. Used my cuttlebug embossing for this one and some bazill bling. I am still working on my Charity Digi kit which is one of the biggest I have ever done. This will be available free to those who have sponsored by Race for Life. It will also be availabl
