Daisy Adoration

I cant believe our Granddaughter Daisy has already had her first birthday. Time has flown, although she is still a lovely dainty and sweet child. Of cpourse there is still time if she decides to turn into one of those two year old child monsters, although I doubt it will happen as she has excellent parent and of course fantastic grandparents! LOL!. These photos were taken on the day of her birthday and Daisy has not seen her Granddad or her Uncle Craig for a few weeks. She insisted on being with Granddad and was ideally happy. But when Craig arrived her eyes went straight to him for a hug. I love the photo in the top layout where she is giving Craig the most cheeky grin and look of adoration. The layouts were created using the Love Muffins digital kit from Peppermint Creative

Playing in the sugar Bowl

This Card was created for the Sugar Bowl Challenge no 30 where the challenge was to create a card based on a sketch and make it shabby chic. I used an Easel card style as I love these at the moment!. I altered my GorJuss girl stamp and added Wings and another butterfly which was lifted off 3D with silicone glue. The background papers were from Basic Grey and Crafty Individuals. The background circle was embossed with the damask Cuttlebug folder and all were distressed with Ranger inks. The Angel words stamp is an old one from Debbie Moore designs. a couple of prima flowers, brads and stickles finish off the design.

Still under the weather

The antibiotics seem to be having a mildly positive effect on my chest but a severe negative effect on my digestion! Oh well I must get better soon. As I have been snuggled and wrapped up ward, I have been playing with my Sugar Nellie stamps and made up a couple of mothers day cards. I tried to make the easel style cards, where they stand up with a bit on the front. This one was based on the Sugar Bowl Challenge based on the sketch. Although I did turn round the sketch and based it on am easel card instead. I enjoyed playing with the newly bought Gorjuss stamps but my old favourite Maggie Dressing Up is a must for mothers day cards!

Feeling poorly

Today I feel poorly. I felt poorly yesterday and the day before but last night I was up every house and I really couldn't go into work this morning. After yesterday, my colleagues refused to sit in the same office as me in case I spread my germs. So I am taking s couple of days annual leave to recharge my batteries and drip and cough in the comfort of my own home! I think I have been so busy at work that I forget to look after myself. I know I barely get time to do my hobbies as I have a list of things still waiting completion at home. I have had to make some cards recently though and brave the freezing cold conservatory/craft room to play with sticky bits and glue. I received my new Sugar Nellie stamps. I finally have had a chance to play and tried to take part in the Sugar Bowl challenge to create4 a card based on a sketch and using a button, two brads and three flowers. I didn't quite make it on some of them but this one turned out all right. These are the lovely Gorguss s

The joy of using a new cat kit!

I have not done any digital scrapbooking since well before Christmas. After all, I have had my christmas cards to stamp, colour cut and stick. Then I developed a facination for researching my family tree. ( I am sure I will bore you about that just now!) I oftern read the calls for people to either go on to Creative teams and although I support and work with Designs by Angel on her creative team, circumstances mean that I have not been overly taxed with work. I spotted a one kit call for a kit called 'The World of Purring Cats' . The designer BlackCat Designs wanted a couple of layouts to advertise the kit. As I have my lovely Havanas and an Oriental Lilac I offered to create some quick layouts. a couple are shown here. I dont know when the kit goes on sale but I do know it is a massive kit which is very versatile and is not restricted to just cat layouts!. Watch out for notification of where to get it if you like the sneak preview.

Merry Christmas

Boudoir Photography or 'How to look Good Naked'

I love Gok Wan's show 'How to look Good naked', I seem to cry everytime when people get their self confidence to go for it! The photographs are always artfully posed and not actually showing anything indecent. When I atended Cheryl Johnsons Photography bootcamp earlier this year we learned about staging shots so although I had the therory, its rare that an opportunity arises for me to practice. When my daughter Michelle got married to Ben on 10th October this year, I went up to her bedroom with Michelle whilst the 'official' wedding photographer was downstairs. As she was getting ready Michelle was up for me posing her on their bed for a few photographs. Although not quite naked, she wore her wedding underwear which consisted of blue frilly pants, white stockings and her blue robot shoes. She had her tiara on and only needed her dress to finish off the outfit. I was so pleased with how this photo turned out that I had it made into a large canvas and presented it to

Digital Freebies

I have posted a couple of new blog backgrounds in the store over at http://www.scrapdragon.co.uk/ for anyone that is in need of a makover. These two include headers and full instructions for loading them into Blogspot / Blogger minima templates. After a very hectic hen weekend celebrating my daughters forthcoming wedding I needed to do a bit of digi creating as relaxation before I start on creating the bridesmaid dresses and favour boxes. Of course I would share the photos of the hen weekend but I am not sure if any could possibly be published. I will go and find a 'mild' one! As the hen night involved going out round Burton on Trent dressed up in a Moulin Rouge theme outfit. There was more bosoms, basques and feathers than there ever was in a French whorehouse! But at least it kept the local men entertained. I am sure some of those poor creatures will be fantisising for weeks on what they saw. The following day we all went to Hoar Cross hotel and spa for a fantastic day rela

The family adventure

Considering the beautiful weather we have had this weekend, its shame we all ventured up to Scotland last weekend! We took out caravan and my daughter Michelle and soon to be husband Ben took their huge tent and we set off for Glencoe just near Fort William in the Scottish highlands. Our eldest granddaughter Amy joined us as well. At least she stopped being a teenager hiding in a darkened room with her phone and ipod for a week! The higland Midge decided I was tastier than the highland cattle and found every bit of bare flesh and even some hidden flesh) to feast upon. So off I had to quickly find a chemist to dose up on Piriton as I react badly to all insect bites. We had a few very wet days and nights in Glencoe, staying at the Camping and Caravan club campsite. the site was lovely and the views stunning. The staff very friendly and it was right next to the Scottish National Trust visitor centre with loads of local walks. The only downside was damp weather and the camping g
