Nearly the weekend!

Next week I am off to Scotland for a few days. I am hoping there will be a nice log fire and a few samples of Whiskey to try and keep out the cold and snow. While I am out of the house I have arranged for my friendly decorator to come and decorate my staircase and hallway. It is badly in need of a make-over as the same wallpapaer was on when we moved into the house in 1999. But as the hallway is a catherdral ceiling and an 18 foot drop for wallpaper, there is no way I was ever going to get up there and strip off the wallpaper.

Of course I never thought through the implications of booking the decorator, I soon realised that I would have to spend all my lunch times searching for new wallpaper! After several trips out to B&Q and Focus I brough smaples home for my husband Allan to look at - of course he hated them all. Then he got the task of looking for samples and I hated his choice. Well last night we called at a local independent decorators shop and found the perfect paper. Within 10 minutes of walking through the door I found the perfect paper and bought it! I will take a photo of the before this weekend and then show you the finished hallweay whehn we come back from Scotland.

It was a shock to they system to go back to work after two weeks in the sun. Especially when I haven't even finished wading through the mountain of laundry. As a distraction to avoid looking at the laundry, I have been reviewing the photos which I took in Egypt while I was playing with my new Canon 450D camera and the 50mm lens which Allan bought me for Christmas. These very clever carvings were on display in the hotel restaurant. They had lovely displays of fruit and vegetables everyday. I just had to capture the colourful display. I set off tonight for my Tuesday weight watchers class in anticipation of the two weeks all inclusive menu of the Hauza Beach Resort in Sharm would have increased my weight dramatically. I was overjoyed to find I had stayed the same as before my holiday and not managed to put on an ounce! I don't believe it, we must have drank at least a bottle of red wine each day. I will have to be really ggood for this week otherwise it will show on m...

Playing in the sugar Bowl

This Card was created for the Sugar Bowl Challenge no 30 where the challenge was to create a card based on a sketch and make it shabby chic. I used an Easel card style as I love these at the moment!. I altered my GorJuss girl stamp and added Wings and another butterfly which was lifted off 3D with silicone glue. The background papers were from Basic Grey and Crafty Individuals. The background circle was embossed with the damask Cuttlebug folder and all were distressed with Ranger inks. The Angel words stamp is an old one from Debbie Moore designs. a couple of prima flowers, brads and stickles finish off the design.

Still Waiting.....

We are still waiting for our grandchild to be born. Our daughter is now 10 days over her due date and getting bigger and bigger. We hope that everything is well and baby is born with some intervention early next week. I hope this lazy baby will stay happy and contented when it emerges into the world. There is a large family waiting to meet him or her! As I am waiting, I used the Waiting to Happen kit from MGLscraps. This kit is so versatile and perfect for scrapping our waiting game. The layout is of my daughter Michelle when she showed teenage attitude.
