printable scrapbook paper backgrounds

Have you been trying something new while we have been isolated?  I have had a huge change in my creativity.  Teaching art and Powertex workshops is just not happening at the moment, due to all the restrictions and I needed something else to get my creative juices flowing.

I also had a major overhaul of websites, realising I was just keeping them on 'because', and they were serving no purpose at all.  I had to revamp the www.docreative.co.uk website as  this remains our primary source of training bookings and shop sales.  But my Scrapdragon website has now been discontinued as I realised I still had this free blog  with all the history attached.  This will now do for my ramblings and any freebies I want to share with people.

So finally to the purpose of this first post in a long time.  While I was updating the websites, I rediscovered digital art and digital scrapbooking. Anyone who has ever read any of my diatribe and ramblings will know I was an avid scrapbooker previously.  I  also realised I can do digital scrapbooking anywhere, without the need for all my paper stash, glues, washi tape and embellishments.  Everything I needed was on my laptop.

Ahh, after about a week I soon realised that all the photos and digital scrapbooking elements I had unzipped from storage, was now clogging up my processing power.  I had previously had a large unwieldy hard drive.  (sadly dropped, broke and everything lost on it!)  I wanted a new solid state drive which was easily transportable and had a massive storage solution. I found a one Terra-byte Netec Z slim on Amazon and it is amazing.  No more watching the little egg timer waiting for files to load or transfer, this was red hot super speed.

Combining my colleagues love of making mini albums and books, I designed a series of 12 A4 sized printable scrapbook or background papers, based loosely on a vintage garden theme.  These I have offered with a free bonus pack of another 10 vintage floral pages which can be downloaded, printed and used again and again on your cards and mini books.

Pop over to the website and have a look.  I will be adding more in the future

A long awaited makeover...

They say all things happen for a reason. However, we dont think of that when someting goes wrong, we only look on the downside. Two weeks ago I couldn't upload my new kit to my online digital scrapbooking store. I tried several FTP packages but gave up. Then It wouldn't let me log in to adminster the store. " The computer said no !" I left for a few days until I received and email from a customer ( I dont get many, customers that is not emails) who stated hat she had ordered items but did not receive the download link. Oh dear, there really was somethng wrong with the site and I didn't know how to fix it. What I did know was how to create a new site, the previous one was three years old and I must admit it had lots of unnecessary files in the back that I was unsure whether I could delete or remove. I also wanted to update the design but was unwilling to mess up a live working site. You know the old saying, "if it's not broke dont fix it", well not i

Stamperia Oriental Garden Album 10 x 12

I love making mini books and albums at the moment.  This was an online class with Cal Summers from The Scrap Lab..  This design was originally called the Office Hours Book. its a long time since I made one so big, at 10 x 12 it only has three pages attached to the spine, but loads of layers and places for photos.  I haven't decided what photos to use for this one yet.  Walkthrough video here

Boudoir Photography or 'How to look Good Naked'

I love Gok Wan's show 'How to look Good naked', I seem to cry everytime when people get their self confidence to go for it! The photographs are always artfully posed and not actually showing anything indecent. When I atended Cheryl Johnsons Photography bootcamp earlier this year we learned about staging shots so although I had the therory, its rare that an opportunity arises for me to practice. When my daughter Michelle got married to Ben on 10th October this year, I went up to her bedroom with Michelle whilst the 'official' wedding photographer was downstairs. As she was getting ready Michelle was up for me posing her on their bed for a few photographs. Although not quite naked, she wore her wedding underwear which consisted of blue frilly pants, white stockings and her blue robot shoes. She had her tiara on and only needed her dress to finish off the outfit. I was so pleased with how this photo turned out that I had it made into a large canvas and presented it to
