Sons scrapbook album finally completed

I stated this 9x9 scrapbook album. For my sons 21st birthday. It was supposed to show his first 21 years. So I dutifully added in the baby photos and journalled stories for him to read. But then work and life got in the way.
Then comes Covid-19 lockdown and a chance to clean out the cupboards in the bedrooms. Finding loads of photos and scrapbook items I was hooked on scrapbooking again.
As he is now grown up with children of his own, I thought it best to finish the album and fill all the empty page slots.
This double layout above recalled the time he was an extra in the Billy Elliot movie. His part was only briefly shown at the beginning outside the boxing gym.
just another layout of days spent with grandad

growing up to 16. Hidden journalling tels the takes behind the tabs.
it was harder photos the older he got. Must have been out more on the lash!
and then he finds the love of his life...
Then starts his career
from a baby to a gorgeous young man. And we are proud parents and grandparents.

Finally I can let the album go off to its forever home for future generations. While I get to finish my Dash Between album.

It was a shock to they system to go back to work after two weeks in the sun. Especially when I haven't even finished wading through the mountain of laundry. As a distraction to avoid looking at the laundry, I have been reviewing the photos which I took in Egypt while I was playing with my new Canon 450D camera and the 50mm lens which Allan bought me for Christmas. These very clever carvings were on display in the hotel restaurant. They had lovely displays of fruit and vegetables everyday. I just had to capture the colourful display. I set off tonight for my Tuesday weight watchers class in anticipation of the two weeks all inclusive menu of the Hauza Beach Resort in Sharm would have increased my weight dramatically. I was overjoyed to find I had stayed the same as before my holiday and not managed to put on an ounce! I don't believe it, we must have drank at least a bottle of red wine each day. I will have to be really ggood for this week otherwise it will show on m...

Playing in the sugar Bowl

This Card was created for the Sugar Bowl Challenge no 30 where the challenge was to create a card based on a sketch and make it shabby chic. I used an Easel card style as I love these at the moment!. I altered my GorJuss girl stamp and added Wings and another butterfly which was lifted off 3D with silicone glue. The background papers were from Basic Grey and Crafty Individuals. The background circle was embossed with the damask Cuttlebug folder and all were distressed with Ranger inks. The Angel words stamp is an old one from Debbie Moore designs. a couple of prima flowers, brads and stickles finish off the design.

Still Waiting.....

We are still waiting for our grandchild to be born. Our daughter is now 10 days over her due date and getting bigger and bigger. We hope that everything is well and baby is born with some intervention early next week. I hope this lazy baby will stay happy and contented when it emerges into the world. There is a large family waiting to meet him or her! As I am waiting, I used the Waiting to Happen kit from MGLscraps. This kit is so versatile and perfect for scrapping our waiting game. The layout is of my daughter Michelle when she showed teenage attitude.
